Here, at an elevation of 850 metres, guests can enjoy a fantastic network of hiking and mountain biking trails with routes to suit every taste and ability. On the plateau itself the uphill climbs are all gentle ones. The surrounding mountains and summits, however, exert an irresistible call to those who enjoy something more challenging, both in summer and in winter. Visible from far away, the towering, majestic Kalkkögel peaks hold a promise of unforgettable mountain tours and climbs.

The many mountain pastures with their rustic Alpine huts offer idyllic “watering holes” for hikers. During the winter months Birgitz boasts Austria’s longest natural toboggan run, and the nearby Axamer Lizum is a haven for ski enthusiasts. Birgitz itself, however, also has a ski school that is well-known for its fun courses for children.
