The centrepiece of the museum is Innsbruck’s giant panoramic painting (Riesenrundgemälde), which depicts across 1,000 m² the Tyrolean struggles for freedom of 1809, presented as a fascinating and breathtaking 360 degree view. With some surprising exhibits, the exhibition area “Schauplatz Tirol” (scene Tyrol) deals with the themes of religion, nature, politics and people.
