Axamer Lizum
The Axamer Lizum is quite entitled to “blow its own Olympic trumpet” – it was, after all, host to several disciplines during the Winter Olympics not once, but twice, both in 1964 and in 1976.
Boasting pristine deep snow slopes, immaculately groomed pistes, numerous lifts and the Olympiabahn funicular, the “Lizum” is particularly popular with ski and snowboard enthusiasts. The funicular can carry over 12,000 passengers an hour rendering tedious queuing virtually a thing of the past. The area also offers a snow guarantee and a selection of cosy, convivial restaurants and huts such as the spectacular “Hoadl Haus”, a panorama restaurant with breathtaking all-round views.
