High, higher, the highest – superlatives fit the bill in Kühtai since this, with the exception of the glaciers, is Austria’s highest ski resort – and a very special one to boot!

Situated just a 20 minute drive from the city, this tiny village is well and truly a winter paradise. If you stay here, the ski slopes are, quite literally, on your doorstep so you can safely leave your car at home. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, here you can enjoy an extensive and varied ski area that offers guaranteed snow well into spring as well as a plenty of lift facilities, a wide range of cosy, rustic mountain huts and floodlit night-time skiing twice a week.

Opening times winter season 2011/12: Beginning of December until 1st May 2012
Cable-cars and lifts: 8-seater cable-car, three 4-seater bubble chairlifts (weather protection), 1 double-chairlift, 6 drag tows, 1 magic carpet
Slopes and ski runs: 44 km of runs - 7 km easy, 29 km intermediate, 8 km advanced, 35 km with guaranteed snow cover, 3 km floodlit
Funpark: Offers everything from rails, kicker, corner, phat powder runs over cliffs and cornices, to piste jibbing and park riding.
Night-time skiing: Wednesdays and Saturdays
