Winter Holidays in Gries im Sellrain
On the slopes …
Just a 15-minute drive takes you from Gries im Sellrain to the fantastic 2,020 metre-high winter sport resort of Kühtai with its unbeatable combination of sunshine, snow and endless slopes. The k-park is a haven for snowboard enthusiasts, but, whatever your cup of tea, be it snowboarding, Alpine skiing or cross-country skiing, the Kühtai ski area offers an absolute guarantee of superb snow conditions.
The village of Gries itself, however, also offers skiing facilities. The Sonnberglift ski tow only allows for short descents, but for those who fancy a quick “wedel” on the slopes after a snowshoe tour, for example, the little ski lift in the village centre fits the bill perfectly – all the more so since the piste is floodlit in the evening to boot! Even the cross-country ski tracks in Gries are floodlit allowing for a spot of pleasant night-time exercise. During a one-day cross-country ski course you can find out just why this sport ranks among the best stamina building winter sports.
