Experience Kematen
Kematen – Where culture and nature come together...
Lying to the west of Innsbruck, the little village of Kematen is just a ten-minute drive away. Situated at an elevation of 610 metres in the sunny Inn Valley, Kematen does not only have Innsbruck on its doorstep, but also the Sellraintal valley, and therefore it boasts a particularly wide range of activities and attractions all year round.
Innsbruck, on the one hand, has a myriad of visitor attractions, of cultural diversity and shopping highlights. The Sellraintal valley, on the other, offers a paradise of untouched nature to put a sparkle in the eyes of hikers, mountaineers, cyclists and, of course, winter sport enthusiasts - Alpine skiers, backcountry skiers and cross-country skiers alike.
Kematen itself is a picturesque place with quaint houses, lots of farms and an excellent baker who is renowned far and wide. With its towering bulbous spire complete with three onion-domes, the Baroque church dedicated to St. Victor is unique in the Tyrol.
Guests staying in Kematen enjoy with your Guest card a lot of advantages: they can take part in guided walks and hikes during the summer months, make use of the Freizeitzentrum Axams leisure complex and rent bicycles – all free of charge. The latter is particularly worth doing since the well-kept Inn Valley cycle path offers a pleasant and culturally rewarding tour suitable for the whole family.
