The people of Mutters are very proud of this award. Indeed, the little village situated on the sun-blessed plateau, has been awarded the title of “Tyrol’s most beautiful village” not once, but twice. And with good reason! Superbly preserved old farmhouses, a colourful display of flowers, breathtaking views across to the Nordkette mountain range and down to the city of Innsbruck, all surrounded by picturesque fields and meadows – a jewel amidst the rugged grandeur of the mountains.

Despite its idyllic location, Mutters is just a few kilometres from Innsbruck, a mere 15-minute drive. An excellent public transport network – including the lovely “Stubaitalbahn” narrow-gauge tram – connects the village with the region’s capital.

But the fact that Mutters has developed into a popular holiday village for families is not only down to its superb location; it’s also due to its wide range of attractions and activities, including the Mutterer Alm mountain that offers a world of fun and adventure, as well as a fantastic family-friendly ski area during the winter months. Tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, pony riding, an open-air pool and a free programme of children’s activities on the nearby Natterer See lake make this an ideal holiday destination.
