People have been learning to ski with us for generations now, and it’s a tradition we’ve proudly continued since we reopened in 2006! The Muttereralm is eagerly awaiting your arrival with the very latest infrastructure, including two 8-seater cable cars (one departing from Mutters and one from Götzens) now installed on our local mountain! The product is completed by another 4-seater chair-lift, a drag-lift and several lifts especially for children.

The pistes around the mountain station are perfectly suited to beginners and those who haven’t been skiing for a while, while the slopes leading into the villages of Mutters and Götzens are also a pleasure for practiced skiers. Meanwhile, the slalom course down from the ‘Pfriemesköpfel’ also lures professional ski teams from around the world to the Muttereralm.

By the way, almost all the 20 kilometres of pistes are covered with artificial snow made with modern snow lances, ensuring you always enjoy perfect conditions!

The new Kinderland kid’s club at the mountain station also offers our youngest skiers ‘pure skiing fun’, as somewhere children of all ages can gain their first experiences on skis (or just play and slide about in the snow). Our local ski school also cares for children from the age of two upwards.

The Mutterer Alm has always been hugely popular with ski-tourers, whether they be locals or guests to the area. ‘Ski-touring’ is the art of climbing mountains on skis. The first ski-tours were taken around the end of the nineteenth century. Try this trendy new version of an old sport as soon as you can – it’s skiing, with a difference! The newly set-up touring track onto the Mutterer Alm is perfectly suited to beginners in the sport, or as a preparatory tour for difficult mountain tours. And the slope onto perfectly prepared pistes is certainly a pleasure! (Tip: Wednesday is tourers’ and tobogganists’ evening, and the restaurants are open until 10.00 p.m.).

The Muttereralm has everything you could possibly want in gastronomic terms, with a choice from the newly set-up ‘Panorama’ mountain restaurant with its generous sun terrace, ‘Nockhof’ at the middle station, and two après-ski bars, ‘Swing In’ at the Mutterer valley station and ‘Der Leuchtturm’ at the Götzner valley station.

You’ll find ski and toboggan rental at both valley stations (Mutters und Götzens), and each station also has its own ski school – so there’s absolutely nothing stopping you enjoying a great winter holiday!
