Living traditions

Long-established customs and traditional events play a central role in the cultural life of the villagers of Oberperfuss. Open-air marching band concerts, Tyrolean evenings with dancing and music and traditional processions let visitors experience Tyrolean tradition first hand, and give them a chance to see the locals dressed in their finest traditional costumes.

If you prefer to be a part of it all, rather than an onlooker, then you can join in one of the many mountain pasture festivities, village festivals or tented beer "Fests". This is a village where the region and its people, its customs and its traditions, can all be enjoyed as part and parcel of your holiday.

The lead-up to Christmas is, on the other hand, a time of contemplation and reflection with winter concerts, carol singing and the enchanting Christmas market. With traditional seasonal music, twinkling Christmas lights and the warm smell of cinnamon, the atmosphere is simply magical.

The imperial cartographer from Oberperfuss - In the Anich-Hueber-Museum in Oberperfuss you can follow the story of how a farmer’s son became a renowned geographer and astronomer.
