A hike of around two hours through pristine, snow-covered forests takes you to the Rumer Alm mountain hut where you can enjoy a cosy, convivial get-together, before setting off on the exhilarating four kilometre-long toboggan ride past the Enzianhütte down to the car park beside the Gasthof Canisiusbrünnl hotel in Hoch-Rum.
 
The village of Rum is about 5 km from Innsbruck. For this reason, the sledge  trail is easily reachable by car or with the IVB - "A" bus route. Being situated close to the town, the sledge  trail is popular and therefore used a lot. The ascent can be made over large parts of the  trail using alternative routes. The starting point is at the Rumer Alm (1,243 m). The  trail then leads past the Enzianhütte (1,041 m) and back to the car park or the Canisiusbrünnl guest house (739 m) tel: 0043 (0)512 261203 in Hoch-Rum.
