La iglesia está situada en Hötting, uno de los barrios más antiguos de Innsbruck. La primera mención escrita de esta construcción gótica data del año 1286. Más tarde, la iglesia se reformó  para adaptarla al estilo barroco.

La antigua iglesia parroquial Höttinger Pfarrkirche es un lugar muy recomendable para visitar durante una estancia en Innsbruck: interesante y sin demasiada gente.
