Touring Innsbruck's Surroundings
Start at the center of Innsbruck, drive for 10 minutes drive and you will find yourself in beautiful natural surroundings. The villages around Innsbruck are located on high sunny plateaus and offer a wealth of natural and cultural resources.

Sellraintal
Sellraintal
This area is truly a winter and summer paradise, a beautiful holiday region and a special touring destination. The Sennraintal area, featuring eight villages, has something for everybody: cross-country skiing, backcountry skiing and sledding in winter, hiking in summer.

Westliches Mittelgebirge
The area from Mutters to Natters offers extended hiking trails and varied mountain bike trails. Lake Natterer See is not just popular as a family leisure center.
The Axamer Lizum area, overlooked by lime peaks, is a nature paradise ideal for hiking and climbing. Axams, Götzens, Birgitz und Grinzens, located to the southwest of Innsbruck, offer torch hikes, horse drawn carriage rides and numerous events in summer and autumn.

Südliches Mittelgebirge
The sunny plateaus of Igls, Patsch, Aldrans, Lans and Sistrans make a convenient base for hiking Patscherkofel mountain. From here the “Zirbenweg“, an almost flat mountain trail, heads between century-old pine trees. The 9-hole golf course in Lans and the 18-hole course in Rinn/Judenstein afford fantastic panoramic mountain views. After a round of golf, take a refreshing swim at Lake Lanser See.
Although the city is in close proximity, all villages have retained their rural character. Ampass, for example, features the St. Johannes-Kirchlein, a small Baroque church with fantastic views. Thanks to its elevation of 1,000 meters, the village of Ellbögen makes an ideal summer health resort.

Hall in Tirol, a world cultural heritage site
The small historic town of Hall is located 10 km east of Innsbruck and is famous for its beautiful old town with its many picturesque, winding streets and medieval houses. The Alte Münze museum, the world’s first taler mint, is especially worth a visit. Visitors can mint their own coins. Admission is included in the Innsbruck Card.
