Cross-country skiing
Innsbruck’s cross-country skiing trails become longer and longer: Innsbruck is not only the top destination for alpine skiers …
Many well-groomed trails are waiting for cross-country skiers and ski hikers off the Olympic slopes. Innsbruck - the Capital of the Alps - now features two new cross-country ski areas which are famous for their reliable snow record. At an elevation of 1500m the romantic landscape around Lüsens in the Sellraintal attracts many cross-country skiers.

Who wants to go even higher could glide along the trails in Kühtai on an elevation of 2000m.

So the offer for fans of high altitudes has become even more diverse. And there are still the “old” areas on the Stubai Glacier and in the Schlick 2000 where cross-country skiers can glide along 4.5km-long and 3.5km-long trails respectively and enjoy the view of snow-capped mountains. Cross-country skiing in the valley isn’t less attractive in Innsbruck. Various areas, Rinn, Mutters/Natters and Axams/Birgitz with more than 40km of trails, are located on the sunny plateaus round Innsbruck. Some of them use artificial snow to guarantee perfect conditions.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING SHUTTLE

The shuttle service is ideal for cross-country skiers, who don’t want to drive themselves. The service is for free and takes you to the area which offers the best conditions at the moment or to the area of the passengers’ choice.
