crankworx-2021-19

Crankworx World Tour 2022 mountain biking festival is just days away, starting on 15th June in Innsbruck. If this year’s tour is anything like 2021, we’re set for some historic performances and great vibes on the mountain and town.

Innsbruck’s urban-alpine setting makes this stop one of the favorites amongst both athletes and fans. Many mountain bikers from Europe, North America and Australia make the trip to catch the action live, participate in amateur events and workshops, all while enjoying what the city has to offer during the evenings.

Historic Backflip by Robin goomes and women's field

One of last year’s top highlights was the first ever in competition backflip by Robin Goomes. The women’s rider list is once again stacked with talent. Vaea Verbeeck, Kialani Hines, Harriet Burbidge-Smith, and Casie Brown and Casie Goomes are some of the most notable participants. 25 other extremely talented women are close on their heels and ready to continue making a name for themselves so it’s worth keeping a close eye on the rest of the field. It’s worth noting that Vaea Verbeeck is the back-to-back Queen of Crankworx so we’re excited to see her reach into her bag of tricks.

Men's field

The men’s field also has some familiar faces rolling into town. Bas Van Steenbergen from Canada returns after his dominant performance throughout the 2021 tour. He was named the King of Crankoworx 2021 after earning almost double the points earned by Tohoto-Ariki Pene who came in 2nd place. Jackson Frew, Tomas Lemoine and Joe Breeden are also in the field looking to shake up this year’s rankings.
