Beach volleyball - trend sport
Feet in the sand, ball in the air, sun on your skin - beach volleyball has been popular for years, completely understandably so. The trendy summer sport can also be practiced in Innsbruck. And with a mountain panorama to boot! You won't find that anywhere else. Today I show you my favorite beach volleyball courts in and around Innsbruck.
Beach event in the middle of Innsbruck
Apart from the fact that beach volleyball is really fun: it's also cheap! You don't really need any equipment, with a ball and sportswear you are already there
Innsbruck has built some wonderful volleyball courts for the summer season. I'll show you where you can block and dig especially well in the sand. Ideal to get in the mood for the beach volleyball event at Marktplatz, in the middle of Innsbruck. This will bring some really cool beach vibes to the city in June 2022
Beach volleyball at quarry pond
Swimming fun and a match in between. Everything is possible at the beautiful Baggersee in the east of Innsbruck. The Baggersee is THE bathing oasis for the people of Innsbruck. Many a person jumps into the water quickly after work
Two beach volleyball courts are available at the north entrance to the facility. After the match you can refresh yourself with a jump into the cool water or with a cool drink
Beach volleyball court Rum
At the foot of the Nordkette, the spectacular rock formation on the outskirts of the city, you will find two beautiful places. More precisely, behind the new secondary school in Rum. Rum, by the way, is a village right next to Innsbruck, super connected by bus
There is a shower on site to cool off, and you can cheer from the small grandstand
Beach volleyball New Rum
A great facility can be found in Neu-Rum right next to the soccer field. Easily accessible by bike via the cycle path along the Inn River or by bus.
Tip: After the match, simply cross the Orleans Bridge to the quarry pond to cool off or have an ice cream at Tomaselli's
Beach volleyball at Tivoli
You want to play beach volleyball right in the city? Then drop by the Tivoli. The sporty leisure center with outdoor pool offers three beautiful beach volleyball courts. You can reach them via the bike path or with the bus line M (final stop stadium)
Square in Hötting-West
In the west of Innsbruck you can also pursue your beach volleyball passion. Two nice courts can be found at Franz-Baumann-Weg. A shower is also available. Easy to reach by streetcar 5 and 2
Fun in Natters
At the sports field in Natters can also be beacht. Maybe a nice ride with the Stubaitalbahn and then to the sport?
Innsbruck Beach Event 2022
Mega atmosphere in the middle of Innsbruck: From June 2 to 5, the Beach Event 2022 will take place in Innsbruck. For this event, the market square in the middle of Innsbruck will be transformed into a sandy beach stadium
The Austrian and European volleyball elite will deliver spectacular sport in front of the Innsbruck "skyline" - the famous colorful houses of Mariahilf. While next door the Inn River rushes by and and the Nordkette towers behind. What a sight!
The MEVZA tournament as part of the Austrian Beach Volleyball Tour PRO offers international professional volleyball sport with music and a supporting program at one of the most beautiful locations in the city.
For amateurs there will be a Business Cup on June 2 where Tyrolean businesses can compete against each other
