Igloo village at Kühtai offers a different kind of winter holiday
At Kühtai, Austria’s highest ski resort located at 2,020 metres above sea level, also this winter twelve small igloos are waiting to accommodate adventure seekers and romantics from mid December 2013 until the end of April 2014. Based at your own little ‘ice castle’ you can take moonlit snowshoe hikes or hands-on lessons in igloo construction. And, of course, the slopes are right at your doorstep.
You will enjoy every bit of it: For €119 per person (when arriving on Friday or Saturday: €134) you get accommodation in an igloo that sleeps four to six people, an insulated mattress covered with soft sheepskin rugs, and a thermal sleeping bag. You will be made welcome with an extensive tour of the igloo village and a schnapps. Also included in the price is dinner in the cosy dining area and a copious breakfast.
Those of you who want to spend a truly romantic night in the snow will surely opt for this cuddly package for two: At a cost of €159.50 per person (when arriving on Friday or Saturday €173.50) it includes accommodation in your private igloo, dinner, breakfast, a bottle of Prosecco and a surprise present. There are also various cool activities on offer. How about signing up for snowshoeing under the stars? Or a moonlit sledge ride, including a stop-off at a convivial mountain lodge? You may even want to take some valuable know-how back home, and participate in a six-hour igloo building workshop.
At the igloo village you are guaranteed a truly unique holiday adventure, rounded off by the Kühtai’s wealth of sports amenities. Thanks to the high altitude there is no need for a car, since you can comfortably reach the slopes on foot. Getting to the igloo village is made easy too: just drive there, enjoy, chill and have fun.
