Kidsworx: youth programme at Crankworx Innsbruck
Kidsworx is an action programme for children and teenagers held during the Crankworx mountain bike festival. Participants can watch the pros do their tricks and get exciting insights into life as a racer. It’s also possible to give racing a try: there is a Pump Track Challenge for kids and teens. Also on the programme: the Family Game and Mini Kids Race. Workshops take place from 13 to 17 June at Bikepark Innsbruck at Muttereralm. The meeting point is always at the Raiffeisen Club Tirol stand in the Mutters Expo Area.
Ride with the Pro
Meet the Crankworx heroes: Kidsworx makes dreams come true – professional riders go biking with their young fans. Participants get valuable tips during a technical training session and hear all about what it’s like to be a professional downhill racer. On 13 and 16 June at “Ride with the Pro” presented by Tiroler Tageszeitung.
The Pump Track Challenge
The Pump Track Challenge is the Kidsworx highlight for anyone aged 6 to 16. On 15 June, participants have the chance to show off their skills on the pump track – and get a taste of racing. The aim of the pump track is to overcome rollers, jumps and berms without pedalling – just using rhythmic pumping movements. For this, Kidsworx participants use the same pump track course as the Crankworx pros. It gets particularly exciting for anyone who gets through to the finals when riders go head to head with fellow competitors in the parallel competition.
The Family Game and Mini Kids Race
The family competition on 17 June wraps up the Kidsworx programme. Children take part with a parent and are given several bike-related tasks to master that are appropriate for their age group. Younger bike fans have a chance to compete the day before, when children under the age of six can do a course on a balance bike or a pedal bike. Be part of it!
