Mountain bike tours for e-bikes

Up the mountains by bike: What used to be reserved for mountain bikers with legs of steel is now within reach for everyone. E-mountain bikes make it feasible to access numerous destinations that previously required a very high level of fitness. This means you can enjoy a ride to the most beautiful mountain huts and picture-perfect views. The ride is still not completely effortless. But it is only moderately strenuous compared to riding uphill using pure muscle power. The battery support opens up brand new biking territory: the mountains around Innsbruck where you will find delicious alpine delicacies and alpine views: lush green alpine meadows, dark green forests, chirping birds and the freshest air in the region.

Many rate Patscherkofel as the best mountain in Innsbruck for great views!

This tour gets straight to it, starting from the village of Igls and heading uphill past the Patscher Alm, the Patscherkofel Schutzhaus restaurant and the mountain lift station of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car. The route then continues past the tree line of the Swiss stone pine forest and up to the summit of Patscherkofel mountain with its distinctive ORF broadcasting tower, the radar for Innsbruck Airport and stunning 360° views. The charming Gipfelstube restaurant in the old lift station of the former summit lift is only open in summer or in good weather. The views from the summit stretch out for miles, encompassing the Alpine divide, the Zillertal Alps, the Stubai Alps, Serles, the Stubai Glacier and the Wipp Valley with its tributary valleys. The views to the north extend over the Nordkette mountain range and far into the Karwendel mountains, in the west to the Zugspitze and the Tyrolean Oberland region and in the east far into the Tyrolean Unterland region to the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.

WARNING: If the weather changes, the exposed areas on Patscherkofel mountain can quickly become very stormy and freezing cold so be sure to check the weather forecast in advance and bring a change of clothing. The Gipfelstube restaurant at the summit is closed.

Highlights:

Breathtaking 360° views from the summit that extend right out over the Alpine divide.
