Forecast

We will experience typical foehn weather conditions on Tuesday. The sky will be bright with some mountain peaks being shrouded in “foehn fish clouds” (in technical jargon: “Altocumulus lenticularis”). The wind will be gusty and temperatures will of course be mild.

Tendency

On Wednesday, the foehn winds will reach their peak gusting to more than 120 km/h and we will see positive values up to 4000 m. In the valleys, temperatures will be unusually warm for the season. The foehn winds will cease on Friday or Saturday!

Mountain bike tours

TOURS, TRAILS & CHEESE DUMPLINGS

That is mountain biking in Innsbruck. First you pedal hard uphill. Then you enjoy a summer bike stop at one of the many mountain huts and alpine restaurants that are often located right on the route or may even be your destination. Refuelling à la Innsbruck: Kaspressknödel cheese dumplings. Are your calves burning? If so, simply relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains a little longer before getting back on the saddle.

A scenic and well-maintained forestry road that leads up through alpine meadows and forests, past the Nockhof alpine guesthouse to the Muttereralm.

The route starts at the car park at the bottom of the Muttereralm gondola and follows a signposted forest road steadily uphill to the Muttereralm. At the top, you will find the Mutterer Alm mountain restaurant and an adventure playground. A few metres higher up the mountain, there is a reservoir with spectacular views. The Bike Centre at the bottom lift station has rental bikes, there is a practice area at the mountain lift station and the trails at BikePark Innsbruck include a single track for beginners and advanced riders.
