An big advantage for Innsbruck as a business and congress location is the city's extensive training facilities and research capacity. The University of Innsbruck´s central location on the north-south route at the heart of the Alps makes it a particularly attractive institution for both students and international researchers and lecturers.
With a total of 16 faculties, including the newly established Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy (CCB), focused on seminal topics in the field of biomedicine, about 30,000 students and 5,000 employees, the University of Innsbruck is the largest and most important research and educational institution in western Austria. Innsbruck is also home to the renowned Medical University of Innsbruck, the MCI Management Center Innsbruck entrepreneurial school and the Health University of Applied Sciences.
