Gravel Innsbruck
Do you think cycling is the best thing ever? Then go on a big tour with other bike fans! Gravel Innsbruck isn’t a race, it's a get-together for all bike lovers. So jump on your bike and come along for the ride: along the small paths and iconic routes that lead through the lovely countryside and past the rugged mountain slopes in and around Innsbruck. The host city for this very special bike festival was also the host of the UCI Road World Championships 2018.
The route is 76 kilometres long and offers all sorts of wonderful distractions such as regional delicacies along the way. The tour starts and finishes on Rennweg road on the edge of Innsbruck's historic old town. Music, bike parking, information stands and entertainment await. All bike fans are welcome: focus isn't on winning but on having fun on your bike.
The "Höttinger Höll": this steep section, also known as the "Highway to Höll", was the ultimate highlight of the World Championships. It owes its name to the extreme 28 percent gradient and turned the men's World Championship route into something truly legendary and unique. Gravel Innsbruck also includes this World Championship climb, as well as other impressive stretches such as the Europabrücke bridge, which is the ultimate paradise for bungee jumpers, and the Olympic bobsleigh track in Igls, which doubles as an ice-free bike track.
This fun cycling meet is organised by Ride with Passion, an organisation dedicated to cycling that celebrates the passion people have for the sport and shares it with like-minded bike fans. To find out more, visit Ride with Passion online.
