Innsbruck's cityscape has changed dramatically, especially in the 1990s - international tenders and a focus on new architecture have influenced lots of buildings and attracted many big names to the city.
This walk gives you the perfect opportunity to explore Innsbruck as a cosmopolitan and important location for modern architecture.
- In Kaufhaus Tyrol’s basement there’s a market designed by Rainer Köberl for the Tyrolean supermarket chain MPreis. The chain has many exceptionally designed (and award-winning) markets across Tyrol, enabling you to admire how well supermarkets and successful architecture can co-exist.
- In the Town Hall Galleries you really must take the lift up to the campanile - Café 360° and Lichtblick Restaurant - or enjoy the view from "The 5th Floor" of the hotel "The Penz".
- You can also marvel in the Galleries at the colourful glass roof by the French artist Daniel Buren, and the wall design by the Innsbruck multimedia artist Peter Kogler as you exit the lift on the way to Café 360°.
