Möslalm in the Karwendel mountains
The Möslalm is a mountain hut in the Karwendel mountains that is home to a sunny terrace and a rustic dining area where guests can sit back, relax and enjoy. The hut is located 1,260 metres above sea level at the heart of the Karwendel Nature Park. Your hosts are the Kircher farming family from Arzl.
The Möslalm offers accommodation for up to 30 guests. 200 cows, 30 sheep and ten pigs graze in the Möslalm's alpine pastures every summer. The hut is also home to an alpine dairy and all of the meat specialities served in the restaurant come from the hut's own farm.
You can get to the Möslalm on foot, for example by following the route that leads from the village of Scharnitz through the Gleirschklamm gorge. For a relaxed hike up to the hut, you should allow three hours to cover the twelve-kilometre-long route with an elevation gain of 300 vertical metres. Another option is to take the Nordkettenbahn lift to the Hafelekar mountain lift station. From there, the route to the Möslalm takes approximately two and a half hours. If you want to do a mountain bike tour to the Möslalm, you should take the route from Scharnitz. The steepest incline on the twelve-kilometre-long route is 15 percent. The bike tour is easy and also suitable for less experienced mountain bikers. The tour from Scharnitz to the Möslalm takes between one and one and a half hours.
