Panoramic tramline no. 6
A scenic journey on the “forest tram”
The no. 6 tramline (the “Innsbrucker Mittelgebirgsbahn”) was built in 1900 and is still a special experience today. Fittingly known by locals as the “forest tram”, it runs from the Bergisel tram stop (the final stop on tramline 1), through the woods to the south of Innsbruck, up to the alpine plateau and onwards to the Innsbruck district of Igls. This is an impressive journey thanks to the idyllic scenery, magnificent panoramic views and modern comfort.
Line 6 runs daily between
6 am and 6 pm,
from May to October until 8 pm.
