Innsbruck Trek – Day 5 – Easy

On the Innsbruck Almenweg trail
The Innsbruck Almenweg is a wonderful and varied hike that meanders above the western holiday villages around the Nockspitze (Saile) mountain.
This section starts at the Adelshof bus stop and leads along a forest trail towards the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut (1,803 m). The route meets the forest road in a few places along the way, which is also used as a toboggan run in winter and is one of the most popular places to go sledding near Innsbruck. Finally, you leave the forest trail and turn onto a mountain path that leads up and down through the Götzener Graben. The root-laced path is steep in some places. The route continues past the Götzener Alm mountain hut and continues below Pfriemesköpfl peak to the Mutterer Alm mountain hut. Once at the hut, you can choose a spot on the spacious terrace and enjoy stunning views with delicious Tyrolean cuisine.
From the Mutterer Alm, a mountain path leads down past the idyllic Hirschlacke pond towards the valley. At an altitude of about 1,400 metres, the trail turns into a forest road and then joins a ski piste.
Finally, the road leads into the village centre of Mutters, which is known for its traditional houses and flower-laden balconies.
