The Alpenverein route AV 152 starts as a road and leads via the snow shed (the avalanche structure that protects the road) to the "Wasserschloss", the surge tank water facility on the Klammbach stream that feeds the Längental reservoir. The route then becomes a well-marked path that leads slowly but constantly uphill through alpine meadows. At the halfway point, you will come to a junction for the Rietzer Grieskogel – keep left. Shortly before the ridge, you will need to cross an extensive but unproblematic scree field.
