Forecast

On Sunday we will get typical foehn weather. However, it will not bring blue skies and clear views as we learned in school but instead quite dense cloud. Fortunately, a few rays of sunshine will break through the clouds from time to time.

Tendency

Monday won’t bring any significant changes yet. The weather will remain changeable with dropping temperatures. On Tuesday a ridge of high pressure will build.

Summit Tours

Hiking to the very top

Are you a mountaineering fanatic? Or would you like to become one? If so, you're in the right place! We'll show you the most beautiful summit tours in the Innsbruck area. Not all of the peaks are difficult to reach and they don’t all require top mountaineering skills.

You don't have to be a mountaineering great like Reinhold Messner to conquer some of the local peaks. Here we have put together an overview of two easy summit tours.

These tours combine the uplifting feeling of reaching the summit with a comfortable journey there. The magic word is: "Bergbahn". Because where there is a mountain lift or cable car, you only have to complete the last stretch of the route up to the summit cross yourself. Then nothing stands between you and the perfect hiking experience.

Find the perfect mountain peak here

Some summit tours only require a short hike, the rest of the route is covered by a mountain lift or cable car. To see these summit tours, choose "easy" in the filters below.

Are you looking for the ultimate mountaineering experience? Would you like to reach the summit under your own steam? If so, choose "difficult". The results will then show routes for experienced mountaineers with good fitness levels.

From the free car park at Bergbahnen Oberperfuss, take the gondola up to Stiglreith and then the second gondola from there up to the mountain lift station at Sulzstich. From Sulzstich, the hike leads downhill to an idyllic reservoir, circles around the reservoir, follows the road down to the junction for Gfas and then takes the flat paved road to the mountain farms in Gfas at 1,517 metres above sea level.

From there, a moderately difficult trail leads steeply uphill, crosses the Liechtenbach stream and continues to the Angeralm mountain hut (1,749 m) and Krimpenbachalm mountain hut (1,918 m), neither of which are open to the public. This area of mountain pastures is full of flowers and has stunning views.

The route then follows the forest road back to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut (1,777 m), where you can enjoy excellent food and wonderful long views. From there, you can follow the ski slope with great views or the forest road back to Sulzstich and then take the gondolas back down into the valley.
