Summit Tours

Hiking to the very top

Are you a mountaineering fanatic? Or would you like to become one? If so, you're in the right place! We'll show you the most beautiful summit tours in the Innsbruck area. Not all of the peaks are difficult to reach and they don’t all require top mountaineering skills.

You don't have to be a mountaineering great like Reinhold Messner to conquer some of the local peaks. Here we have put together an overview of two easy summit tours.

These tours combine the uplifting feeling of reaching the summit with a comfortable journey there. The magic word is: "Bergbahn". Because where there is a mountain lift or cable car, you only have to complete the last stretch of the route up to the summit cross yourself. Then nothing stands between you and the perfect hiking experience.

Find the perfect mountain peak here

Some summit tours only require a short hike, the rest of the route is covered by a mountain lift or cable car. To see these summit tours, choose "easy" in the filters below.

Are you looking for the ultimate mountaineering experience? Would you like to reach the summit under your own steam? If so, choose "difficult". The results will then show routes for experienced mountaineers with good fitness levels.

Oberperfuss Stiglreith - Rosskogel. This mountain tour starts at the Stiglreith car park (fees apply) at an altitude of 1,383 metres above sea level. If the lifts are running, we recommend taking the gondola from the bottom lift station in Oberperfuss up to Sulzstich in order to save 40 minutes of walking time. From Sulzstich, follow the forest road to the last bend below the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. The Krimpenbachalm hut and Rosskogel mountain can be seen off in the distance. At the bend, turn left and follow the yellow signs along the trail as it leads through alpine pastures and past hay barns to the Krimpenbachsattel at an altitude of 1,899 metres above sea level. From there, take the forest road to the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut (not open to the public) at an altitude of 1,918 metres above sea level and then continue south through the flowering alpine meadows with their wonderful wide-open views. Follow the alpine path with views of Rosskogel mountain, past the so-called "Schartl" on the ridge and up to the top of the 2,649 m high Rosskogel. The breathtaking views from the summit cross make the long ascent more than worthwhile. From there, take the same route back until you reach the Krimpenbachalm hut and then follow the road to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. From the Rosskogelhütte, you can take the ski slope (great views) or the forest path back to the starting point in Stiglreith.
