Forecast

High ‘Hanneke’ continues to dominate our weather, and the maps show no male low that could dispute its supremacy!

Thursday will therefore bring us once again fantastic weather! The day will start with hard frost, but then the September sun will prove its mettle and ensure temperatures rise to pleasant highs in the afternoon.

Tendency

Until Sunday, we will only see little change.

Walking time: 6 to 7 hours
One of the most wonderful trails, the Höhenweg ridge trail takes you from the Kühtai road, near to the Zirmbachalm, all the way to the Rosskogelhütte. The most beautiful vantage points provide plenty of benches for you to relax and enjoy the view. The Höhenweg is perfect for expanding your walk into experiencing the peaks and taking the opportunity to visit Seejoch, Weißstein and Rosskogel.

How do I get to the top, and back down again? Climbs and descents begin a little way above Haggen, where the trail takes you through the signposted forest. Another track leads directly from Haggen to the Höhenweg. Along the 'Wonder Trail', from the climbing village of St Sigmund, you can reach the Sonnbergalm, situated directly on the Höhenweg, and another beautiful trail is the one across the Heuriesenweg to Gries. A further trail takes you past the charming pilgrimage church of St Quirin to Sellrain. And those who wish to go further enjoy the hike via Stiglreith to Oberperfuss.
