Forecast

Under the large system of low pressure over Central Europe we will continue to be influenced by humid air. Such weather conditions will hardly make us jump for joy of course: the weather will be changeable with temporary clear spells and periods of thick cloud.

Tendency

On Friday, on Saturday and on Sunday, clouds will decrease and give way to cloudless skies and perfect sunshine with temperatures keeping on rising.

St. George's parish church in Rum

Gothic on the outside, Baroque on the inside: this church, like many others in the area, was given a Baroque transformation. However, you can still see a reminder of its Gothic origins on the inside: the four-bay nave with vaulted ceiling. From the outside, the church presents itself as a late Gothic nave attached to a choir with a square end. The Gothic tower has a pointed gable roof and uncoupled round-arched acoustic windows and is connected to the sacristy on the north side of the choir.

The church was first mentioned in 1337 but the foundations of the presbytery are even older: they date from the middle of the 13th century. At the time, the church was still very small but it eventually grew to encompass the new building from the 15th century. The last of the three altars was consecrated in 1499 and this marks the completion of the new construction of the church.
