20 June - 14 July 2017
Every summer, toned bodies leap across Innsbruck’s stages, showing off their elegant moves as part of the “Tanzsommer” summer dance festival. The event attracts international dance companies to the capital of the Alps every year. Visitors enjoy top-quality dance performances from classical ballet to an Aboriginal dance group from Australia and everything in between.

Would you like to see Beethoven dance? Then come to the Tanzsommer. Two shows called “Beethoven! The Next Level” will be bringing the dance festival to a close. A spectacular highlight will also kick off the event: Stomp is coming to Innsbruck! Nobody has ever celebrated waste and scrap metal as passionately as this ensemble. The world-famous dance concept with its irresistible beats on dustbin drums and rhythms created by clicking fingers, stamping feet and sweeping brooms is taking to the stage at Congress Innsbruck. The Stomp dancers will fascinate audiences with their boundless energy from 20 to 25 June.
This will be followed by entertaining dance shows from Europe: the Austrian “Hungry Sharks”. The group use urban dance styles to tell tales of human encounters and topical social issues. Dancers from three different companies use their toned bodies, fluid and flexible movements and creative choreographies to treat their audiences to top-quality entertainment.
