International Children’s Games
Be part of it!
1,200 international athletes from over 70 cities worldwide. Eight winter sports disciplines. One exceptional event: the seventh International Children’s Winter Games from 12-15 January 2016 in Innsbruck and the surrounding area. Events are hosted at several venues in the city, including the OlympiaWorld sports facilities and the Messe Innsbruck exhibition centre. Axamer Lizum, the Ice Arena in Götzens, Muttereralmpark and a few other locations will also be Olympic hotspots for the young athletes. Children between the ages of 12 and 15 compete at the International Children’s Games, while young locals cheer them on and create the great atmosphere that Innsbruck is renowned for as a legendary Olympic host.
Cool locations for exciting competitions
The young athletes have a chance to follow in the footsteps of great Olympic idols. At Axamer Lizum, for example, where Olympic races were held in 1964 and 1976. Axamer Lizum offers 41 km of pistes, a snow park, a race corner and extensive freeride terrain. Muttereralmpark is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders with a great fun park that boasts all of the trimmings. The various sports venues are the backdrop for exciting races and heart-stopping finales: from biathlon to figure skating, from alpine skiing to ice hockey.
