Tour of the Alps: a cycling race through Innsbruck

20 April 2018

Tour of the Alps The Tour of the Alps promises 5 days of exciting race action from Arco to Innsbruck, with the participants covering 714.3km and 13,100m in altitude difference over 10 classifications. The final stage will end in Insnbruck on 20th April. Parts of this race will even cross sections of the 2018 Cycling World Championship route.

Stage 5: The final in Innsbruck

The final and decisive race day will be full of anticipation for the participants heading towards Innsbruck. This stage will begin in the medieval town of Rattenberg, the smallest city in Austria. From here, it's through the Inn Valley and along various short climbs and descents. The route goes through the Alpbachtal and Zillertal valleys before heading back to the Inn Valley. Many divers climbs are to be conquered, including the Hochplateau Gnadenwald on the way to the villages south of Innsbruck. The finishing line will be located after 162 strength-sapping kilometres in the centre of Innsbruck, and we have a great fun-filled programme for all the spectators to enjoy themselves befroe the cyclists arrive.
