Xletix Challenge Kühtai: a feat for adrenaline junkies
Thousands jump into the mud and human bowling balls roll. Why? For the ultimate showdown in the German-speaking world, the Xletix Challenge. This event is held in Kühtai – a sports paradise 2020 metres above sea level – and is the highest obstacle course in the world. The location is perfect in the height of summer when it’s hot in the valley but still pleasantly cool higher up in the mountains. The Kühtai High Altitude Training Centre becomes a meeting point for athletes, adventures and anyone who likes to push their limits. A great event for participants and spectators alike.
Overcome obstacles as a team
Last year, this mega event for extreme athletes was called KrassFit Challenge. The name has changed but the challenge remains. The fiendishly elaborate obstacle course can be tackled over three different lengths. Teams are advised to stick together because some of the obstacles can only be climbed, crawled or mastered with help.
Action, sports & mud
Thrills are guaranteed. The obstacles require a certain amount of willpower, for example the “Fantastic Flight”. This giant slide is also a ski jump, the landing zone ice-cold water. Anyone tackling the full, 18-kilometre course has to master almost 30 almost sadistic and creatively named obstacles, including the “Ball Buster”, the “Juicy Jumper” and the “Konfetti Kiss”. Participants and fans are advised not to wear their Sunday best – the Xletix Challenge is wild, jumps into mud and water included.
