The Botanical Garden was established around 1911 at his present location. Within the last two decades a lot of areas were new- or re-constructed according to the modern aims of the garden. Today we are able to show more than 5000 species from different plant communities and climates of the world.
Only the understanding of the sensitive balance can help to save these often endangered communities. The garden is supported by the Society of the Friends of the Botanical Garden Innsbruck.
