Regular guided tours in Innsbruck

How about a walk through the medieval city centre? A place where visitors follow in the footsteps of great princes and baroque monarchs? At the same time, you can learn more about the eventful history of Innsbruck, and amusing anecdotes bring the past to life. Those who wish to discover our city with the aid of a tour guide, have daily opportunities to do so. These regular tours are free with the Innsbruck Card, and can also be booked separately.

Classic walking tour

Discover Innsbruck and its rich history with us. Our daily Classic Tour is the ideal introduction for both international visitors and local history lovers. No advance registration is necessary, just turn up at the meeting point at the specified time, and collect your ticket from the Innsbruck Tourist Information shop.

Daily at 2pm; meeting point is Innsbruck's Tourist Information at Burggraben 3.

With our 'on-foot' guides, discover the hidden pleasures of the old town and experience some of the highlights of Innsbruck's history. The whole year round at 2pm, in both German and English.

Duration: 2 hours.

Imperial Tour: Old Town and Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace in Innsbruck was shaped and formed by two famous women: Maria Theresia and Elisabeth. Take a walk with our guides through the exhibition rooms and imperial apartments, where many amusing historical anecdotes await you! The meeting point for the Imperial Tour is Innsbruck's Tourist Information at Burggraben. From here, the tour takes you through the old town, followed by a visit to the palace.  

Daily at 11am from May to October; meeting point is Innsbruck's Tourist Information at Burggraben 3.

Duration: 1.5 hours.

Attention: on days when the palace is closed, the tour will visit the Hofkirche instead.

The daily Imperial Tour is only held in German, but with advanced notice, and for groups of ten or more, we can arrange tours at other times in English, Italian, Spanish and French.
