Forecast

A large area of low pressure is situated over Central Europe! Low pressure does not necessarily mean bad weather as each low contains areas of precipitation as well as brighter areas. For today we should be pessimistic, however! Unfortunately, our region is at the heart of the main area of precipitation and we will therefore get thick cloud and frequent precipitation.

Tendency

Friday will once again bring unstable weather. On Saturday, the Azores high will stretch over Central Europe allowing an improvement in the weather.

Axamer Lizum

Axamer Lizum is Innsbruck’s “white roof”. The fantastic combination of wonderful slopes and jagged peaks makes the resort an incredibly picturesque winter destination. The wide variety of slopes offers diverse skiing fun just 19 km away from Innsbruck. One funicular, six chairlifts and three drag lifts provide access to 40 km of slopes. The pistes have been awarded an international seal of quality and the resort was given five stars in the categories “Freeride” and “Piste maintenance”. Axamer Lizum has also been a centre for ski instructor training in Tyrol since 2013 thanks to its snow-sure setting.

The majority of runs at Axamer Lizum are rated easy or intermediate but there are also two black slopes for experts. The resort is easy to navigate, even if you’re not familiar with the area: all of the runs end at the bottom of the Olympiabahn lift or at the Axamer Lizum carpark.

Snowboarder’s playground
Boarders are often faced with having to unclip on connecting runs. But this isn’t the case at Axamer Lizum where the pistes all maintain a gentle slope. For a bit of extra fun, the resort also offers a few spectacular natural jumps and a fun park featuring rails, tables and lots of additional obstacles.

Food and drink on the mountain
Axamer Lizum offers great culinary highlights to accompany winter sports fun. Enjoy delicious food and drink at the rustic mountain huts or at the panoramic Hoadl Haus restaurant and Hoadl bar, located 2,340 metres above sea level. The Hoadl Haus boasts the largest covered sun terrace in Austria. Chilled music, sun loungers and pure sunshine invite you to leave all of your cares behind.
