The weather in April will probably not be able to beat the weather of today Saturday: The morning will be sunny, clear and chilly. Already, the sunlight has the same intensity as in mid August and it will therefore be pleasantly warm for the season.
On Sunday, it will remain nice and hot. On Monday, the current period of high pressure will be briefly interrupted by the passage of a weak low accompanied by dense cloud and thunderstorms. Tuesday, high pressure will return again for sunny and warm weather.
This route is only suitable for experienced walkers with plenty of stamina. Those who wish to start from outside Innsbruck should take an early bus into the city and, from here, take the Hungerburgbahn funicular and Nordkettenbahn cable car to Hafelekar at 2,269m above sea level. Goetheweg 219 begins here, and it takes roughly two hours across Mandlscharte (2,277m) to Pfeishütte (1,922m) and an opportunity to stamp your hiking pass. Follow path number 5 from here and, after round 2 hours, you'll reach Kreuzjöchl and Vintl Alm at 1,567m (no longer open) and Rumer Alm (1243m) and another possibility of a stamp. Finally, take path number 1 for 90 minutes to Pension Finkenberg in Rum and a final stamp. You can then pick up your hiking pin from the tourist office in Rum.
