Seegrube - Arzler Alm Trail (Nr. 506+5007)
The tour leads from Innsbruck along Route 506 with a light ascent, and a steep climb at the end towards the forest's edge. Past the Bodensteinalm (rest stop) steeply upwards to the Seegrube mountain station with its wonderful views of Zillertal and the Stubai Alps.
The descent is first back along the way up, but with a left turn at the Rastboden junction on to Lackenweg towards Arzler Alm. Roughly 300m east of the alpine hut, at the forestry road junction, you'll find the start of the Arzler Alm Trail, the downhill highlight of this tour (difficulty level S2, for advanced bikers).
The first section up to the avalanche wall is sportily laid out with some steep turns and jumps (including 'chicken ways' for beginners). The second section takes you from the avalanche wall directly into the city. Long, drawn-out, steep turns, tight curves, blind summits, jumps, waves, tight ravines and rock formations ensure continuous riding fun.
After descending almost 400m in altitude and over 3km of trail, the track joins the new Hungerburg-Mühlau mountain-bike route. Beginners can then switch to the forestry road or one of the numerous tracks along the way.
