Forecast

Low pressure has spread over Europe; in addition to that, cold, humid air is moving into our region! As this humid air is arriving from the north, it is building up here on the north side of the Alps. The weather conditions will therefore be unstable on Saturday: We will see heavy cloud with occasional snowfall.

Tendency

The next few days will not bring any significant changes in the weather. Humid, cool air masses will keep pushing into our region from the north. Thick clouds will produce snowfall.

Sellrain valley high-altitude trail

Walking time: 6 to 7 hours
One of the most wonderful trails, the Höhenweg ridge trail takes you from the Kühtai road, near to the Zirmbachalm, all the way to the Rosskogelhütte. The most beautiful vantage points provide plenty of benches for you to relax and enjoy the view. The Höhenweg is perfect for expanding your walk into experiencing the peaks and taking the opportunity to visit Seejoch, Weißstein and Rosskogel.

How do I get to the top, and back down again? Climbs and descents begin a little way above Haggen, where the trail takes you through the signposted forest. Another track leads directly from Haggen to the Höhenweg. Along the 'Wonder Trail', from the climbing village of St Sigmund, you can reach the Sonnbergalm, situated directly on the Höhenweg, and another beautiful trail is the one across the Heuriesenweg to Gries. A further trail takes you past the charming pilgrimage church of St Quirin to Sellrain. And those who wish to go further enjoy the hike via Stiglreith to Oberperfuss.
