The weather conditions are barely changing at the moment; gentle yet moist air masses are dominating our weather. We will therefore see a mix of sunny spells and cloud.
This stable weather is relatively short-lived, however! On Monday and Tuesday, low pressure will increase and we will see a mix of sunshine, clouds and showers. Fortunately, these conditions are not long-lasting: before Friday the weather will be fine again.
This ski tour is suitable for experienced tourers, and knowledge of deep snow and avalanches is obligatory. Starting point is at the Arzkasten car park. The tour covers a good 900 metres in altitude difference on its way up to Stöttltörl. This ski tour should only be attempted under safe conditions. An early departure is necessary, as the day's increasing temperatures often result in avalanches from the Grünstein walls. When there's enough snow in the valley, it's even possible to cross the Stöttlreise on the way down to Obermieming.
