Hiking on the Rangger Köpfl
A paradise for families and sporty nature lovers
Hiking on the Rangger Köpfl is to hike in a panoramic paradise. A modern gondola leads directly from Oberperfuss to Stiglreith. This lift takes you soaring up to an altitude of over 1,360 metres above sea level – straight into the hiking paradise of Rangger Köpfl for unparalleled alpine moments.
The area right by the top lift station is actually a destination in itself: the Stiglreith panoramic restaurant with its spacious sun terrace is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the fantastic views with hearty cuisine and cool refreshments. Little mountain enthusiasts will love the water channel, disc golf, children’s playground and large bouncy castle. And the absolute highlight is the new 25-metre-long summer tubing course for adrenalin-filled descents.
Exciting themed trails & summit hikes
The forest road to the panoramic reservoir is a pushchair-friendly walk that leads up to magnificent heights in just 40 minutes. From the glistening reservoir, the “Geisterwanderweg” (Ghost Trail) (link) awaits daring adventurers.
The additional 40-minute hike from the reservoir to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut is also suitable for both hikers and families – and the delicious Tyrolean delights and magnificent alpine views from 1,777 metres above sea level are well-worth the walk. Mountain bikers can also enjoy this splendid route. The peak of the Rosskogel – at 2,646 metres above sea level – is very close from here. It’s the highest point of the Rangger Köpfl hiking paradise and is just waiting to be conquered by ambitious mountaineers.
Challenging hikes in this area include the Sellraintaler Höhenweg (Sellrain Valley high-altitude trail), the Peter-Anich-Höhensteig or the tour to the Hundstalsee lake with its “Apollontempel” (a natural work of art known as the “Temple of Apollo”).
