Rossau swimming lake in Innsbruck
Fun in the water, sports and relaxation – all with amazing views
A meeting point. An oasis of enjoyment. A place for refreshment. Or simply “Baggersee”, as the locals lovingly call it. The refreshing Rossau swimming lake brings that summer beach feeling to the Capital of the Alps. The 36,000 m² swimming lake is surrounded by 53,000 m² of space for lounging, sunbathing and relaxing on chilled summer days. Wading areas for non-swimmers, a floating jetty and the popular swimming island round off the revitalising swimming fun – all with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.
The games are on!
The perfectly-maintained beach volleyball court is often the site of exciting battles. And ball games are always in season at the lake: The sports facilities and neighbouring mini-golf course offer everything from table tennis and mini-golf to football and basketball. The professional bocce court is also a real highlight. Alternatively, visitors can put their cunning strategies to the test with a game of chess.
Fun for the whole family
The Rossau swimming lake is a great destination for children thanks to the ideal sports facilities and huge children’s playground with swings, slides, climbing frames, a play tower and a trendy slackline for the right balance. A water play hill with stream and mini slide adds to the water fun.
The mum & baby zone is perfect for a fun and relaxing day with your little ones.
The entire area is wheelchair accessible. Facilities include warm showers, seasonal lockers, numerous daily lockers, over 200 free parking spaces and plenty of space for bikes. There are two entrances: Josef-Mayr-Nusser-Weg and Archenweg. Barbeque stations and two restaurants offer delicious refreshments for replenishing those energy levels.
