Shopping & Culture
More than 150 shops are accessible on foot for you to discover and visit. Take the weight off your feet and enjoy an aromatic cappuccino and warm apple strudel in one of our many cafés. Telfs has also long had a reputation as a centre of culture. Every summer, the Tiroler Volksschauspiele turns the market town into one large actors' village and allows you to come into contact with German-speaking stars of the stage. The imposing dome of the sports centre in Telfs has not only shaped the town's skyline for many years but, in addition to international competitions, popular sports and trade fairs, regularly hosts concerts from the world of music.
One of the oldest and most original Shrove Tuesday traditions in the Alps is the Telfer Schleicherlaufen. On UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, the five-yearly spectacle attracts more than 20,000 visitors, with the next opportunity of seeing the magnificent masks and costumes in 2020. In the meantime, the museum in the Noaflhaus is happy to provide information and history to all visitors.
