Rosengarten Nature Reserve
Charming cultural landscape & nature reserve with a unique character
A mosaic of pastures, fields and forested areas separated by hedges, thickets and steep slopes – the Rosengarten Nature Reserve between Igls and Patsch is a place of great diversity and scenic charm. This ancient cultural landscape is shaped by rocky areas and hills and is still used for agriculture and forestry today.
The nature reserve is a true natural treasure – with the stunning panoramic mountain views that are typical for the southern holiday villages – and also an important sanctuary for traditional alpine flora. The highly structured area also plays an important ecological role, serving as a resting place for migrating birds.
The circular Rosengarten hiking trail leads through this scenic natural haven.
