Romantic weddings in Tyrol
A fairytale setting in Ampass
Unique, unforgettable and full of wonderful moments: this is a romantic wedding in Tyrol. On a little hill in the southern holiday villages, slightly above the delightful village of Ampass, is a parish church dedicated to St. John the Baptist. The two towers of the Ampass Parish Church can be seen from afar and the pretty location surrounded by flowering meadows and fantastic mountain scenery make it a valuable insider tip for weddings in Tyrol.
However, the Gothic Church of St. Vitus in Ampass is also an attraction in itself. The church was built by waggoners on the Old Salt Road that led through Ampass and their intercessions were left in this House of God to bear witness to the time.
The nearby plague column bears the local coat of arms and is one of North Tyrol’s most significant wayside crosses.
