The highlight of the western plateau
Over 60 kilometres of idyllic marked hiking trails for good times, wonderful experiences in nature, quality time with family and awakening curiosity. All just a short drive away or accessible on the hiking bus that runs nine times daily from Innsbruck. The large car park is the perfect place to leave your car and the stress of everyday life behind. In addition to magnificent panoramic views, fascinating mountain peaks, tranquillity and authenticity, Axamer Lizum and the Kalkkögel Nature Reserve also offer visitors outdoor rock climbing areas with many challenging routes. Nordic walkers and power walkers are also often seen on the trails, while the challenging mountaineering routes attract experienced alpinists – who treasure the extraordinary alpine character at Axamer Lizum and happily return again and again. The Birgitzköpfllift is open in summer too – this two-seater chairlift is the most comfortable way to ascend to 2,035 metres above sea level. It leads to the Birgitzköpflhaus mountain hut, which offers magnificent views over the Inn Valley and the Kalkkögel mountain range. The Freeride Division offers a selection of exciting adventures for anyone who wants to explore the mountains in a group: attractive group discounts for companies, schools, sports clubs and children’s groups. Whether sunrise hikes, via ferrata courses or multi-day hut hikes – everything is possible with the Freeride Division.
NEW in summer 2016!!! The Olympia funicular is open this year for our guests. In just a few minutes you are easy and convenient amid the imposing Kalkkögel and on the the sunny plateau Hoadl on 2.340Hm!
