The church in Kreith is more modern than many of the other sacred buildings found in the villages in the Innsbruck region. It provides an interesting contrast to Gothic architecture and Baroque towers and is a good representation of the architectural style of the 1920s. The Herz Jesu Church (Church of the Sacred Heart) was built on the site of an old chapel in 1924 according to plans by architect Max Thaler from Innsbruck. The murals and stained glass windows date back to 1926 – designed by Ernst Nepo in the style of "New Objectivity".
