Wayside shrines in Rum

15 stone wayside shrines guide pilgrims and interested visitors to the Maria Loretto pilgrimage church in the village of Thaur. The centuries-old waymarkers can still be admired today along the "Haller Straße" road. Archduke Ferdinand II endowed the church at the end of the 16th century. The wayside shrines were erected at the same time and, on looking closely, you can see they portray the mysteries of the rosary.
