Forecast

Forecasters do not very much like their job when it comes to forecasting the influences low pressure together with humid, cold air has on our weather!

So this is going to be short and sweet: All day long the weather will be unstable.

Tendency

Low pressure will unfortunately persist; there will be hardly any changes in the unstable weather. The snow level will drop continuously.

Ski touring recommendations

This page will give you some ideas for ski tours in the region of Innsbruck. A great way to get a wonderful insight into the wonders of winter, especially under good conditions. These are, of course, only suggestions, as the final responsibility lies with the tourer to inform him or herself about current conditions before setting out.

Ski touring is a sport in which the risks should never be underestimated. We cannot accept any responsibility for snow conditions, avalanche risks and other outside influences. Every ski tourer is responsible for their own adequate avalanche protection and should check all current conditions with Tyrol's Avalanche Warning Service.

A popular and simple ski tour with great food at Birgitzer Alm and Birgitzköpflhaus alpine huts in Axamer Lizum. A perfect tour for beginners. Starting point is the car park at Birgitzer Alm/Adelshof.

At the bend behind the Adelshof hut (at the start of the toboggan run), follow the path through the snow on the right-hand side (signposted9). The route becomes wider after crossing the toboggan run, and after a short, steep section, you'll reach a path through the forest. The subsequent path is easy to climb to Birgitzer Alm, and Birgitzköpfl is at the end of the tree-free slopes.

To get to Birgitzköpflhaus, keep left befopre the peak and follow the ski path along the saddle. You'll reach Birgitzköpflhaus roughly 20 minutes after conquering the steep terrain from Birgitzköpfl.

To go back down, follow the same route before hitting the final third of the toboggan run.
